eww.

Disgusting. 10 pounds a day, from drinking only ONE can a day? Its clear that everyone learns something new everyday. As a person that plays sport almost everyday, watching my diet is not at the top of my list. Although it's good to watch what I eat, the amount of calories burnt outweigh the intake. As a person who drinks pop occasionally, I feel that this new rule is unfair, but I know that its only for the best. Although pop and junk food/drinks quench almost everyones thirst and hunger, I do believe it is very harmful and unnecessary for the human body, considering most coca-cola products have been used as toilet cleaners due to the amount of acid it contains. The kind of 'scare campaign' is effective in my eyes because when the downsides or cons of pop/junk food are brought to the surface, people finally know what they put into their system. When I found out what has been going through my system, this definitely made me want to become a healthier person. After seeing how much sugar, sodium and calories I consume when I drink pop, this makes me think that I might as well just drink saltwater, sugar water, or a glass full of fat.

In my opinion, I believe that the percentage of obesity
is rising because more people get addicted to the fast food they consume. Fast food causes obesity because fast food restaurants deep fry everything they sell, in order for them to maintain that 'crispy' taste. Due to the amount of junk food people consume, people get extremely lazy. The photo on the left shows a young boy in his grade school years already kicked back and relaxed eating junk food while drinking soda. This is obviously wrong because he's consuming a lot of calories without burning them. When calories build up, and people become fat and lazy, their mind tricks them into thinking that when you're fat, you stay fat, causing them to keep the weight without even trying to lose it.

I believe that if the taxes for junk food and soda went up, I think less people would buy either unless they are willing to spend so much on something so harmful. If people start limiting the amount of McDonalds they buy not only will they save money, they will also save their body from becoming obese.

It's all up to the the person. If they choose to become obese, then McDonalds and soda every day is the way to go. If they choose to live a healthy lifestyle, then neither of those products should be on their menu.
